Ike and Tina Turner in a photo by Denis Hopper. It appeared on the back of the album River Deep, Mountain High in 1966. We found it on the inside of the CD which G found when we cleaned up the lounge room today. It's a fascinating image, Tina scrubbing clothes while Ike plays the piano with a giant Coke bottle hovering near his nose.

More poignant because she was abused by him throughout their sixteen year marriage and left one night after a fight with a few cents in her purse. She hid for several months until he decided to stop searching. Kind of changes the picture a bit doesn't it?
